DRUG PARAPHERNALIA/FELON WITH FIREARM ARREST IN LAUREL COUNTY, KENTUCKY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Matt Walker along with Deputy Daniel Reed arrested Junior Ray Jones, age 45, of London on Monday night February 17, 2025 at approximately 11:08 PM.

The arrest occurred on Levi Jackson Mill Road in London following a traffic stop conducted on a blue colored Chevrolet Traverse that was observed with equipment violations.

During the traffic stop LSO deputies learned that the driver did not have a driver’s license and noted that he appeared to be unsteady on his feet.

An investigation was conducted and the driver, identified as: Junior Ray Jones, age 45, of London, KY was determined to be under the influence and was taken into custody.

In addition, deputies noted finding the driver in possession of:

  • Scales
  • Spoons
  • Straws
  • Torches
  • A pipe

Also, deputies found Jones in possession of a .22 caliber rifle. The arrested subject was transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center

Junior Jones was charged with:

  • OPER MTR VEHICLE U/INFL CONT SUB (189A.010(1D) - 2ND
  • DRIVING-DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE (3RD OFFENSE)
  • POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON
  • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS
  • ONE HEADLIGHT
  • NO BRAKE LIGHTS (PASSENGER VEHICLES)

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
