MIDDLEBURG, FL (March 20, 2025) – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, with assistance from the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force, have made an arrest stemming from a child exploitation investigation.
On March 19, 2025, the CCSO SWAT Unit served a search warrant to a residence on Lazy Acres Road in Middleburg, Florida, and the occupants came out of the home and were detained without incident.
While the home was processed for evidence, the occupants were interviewed by CCSO ICAC detectives as well as the Department of Children and Family Services. As a result of this investigation, probable cause was developed to arrest one of the occupants, Charles Peter Browne, DOB 11/24/1982, for:
- One count of Custodial Sexual Battery
