LONDON, KY (Monday, March 24, 2025) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that Maxine Nix was found safe by two fishermen who notified emergency services personnel nearby.
Maxine Nix, age 74 was found on the banks of the Little Laurel River, in the vicinity of Paris Karr Road at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon, and transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Baptist Health Corbin for evaluation.

In reference to Maxine Nix, a reported missing person, —Laurel County Emergency Management is requesting citizens who live in the Paris Karr Road area who have surveillance cameras at home to look on them for footage from Saturday morning 6:00 A.M. through Sunday to see if the missing person described below is observed, and if so to notify searchers.
Laurel County Sheriff John Root reports that the last known location for Maxine Nix, age 74 (No photo available) was Paris Karr Road 12 miles south of London, on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025.
Maxine is 5' 6", 160 pounds, white female, hazel eyes, gray hair covering ears, wearing blue short sleeved button up shirt with white buttons and white flowers, black leggings, black Nike shoes with white Nike Swoosh.
