SHELBYVILLE, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 12 in Frankfort was requested to investigate a complaint on Friday, April 4th at the Shelby County Detention Center involving a female inmate and a jail employee.
The allegations involved potential inappropriate behavior by a jail employee on April 1st, 2025.
Through the course of the investigation, Post 12 detectives discovered that the jail employee, while on duty, engaged in inappropriate sexual advances toward a female inmate. The employee was identified as Ladonis Mayfield, 31, from Taylorsville, Kentucky. On April 7, 2025, Mr. Mayfield was arrested.
Ladonis Mayfield was charged with:
- Two counts of Sodomy 3rd degree
This individual was lodged in the Oldham County Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
