According to investigators, during a search at a Rowan County home, the van Wright had driven there was also searched.  In the van, State Police discovered a locked suitcase.  After finding the key hidden in Wright’s shoe, investigators discovered a kilo of cocaine in the suitcase.  The drugs had an estimated value of $160,000.

“The drug crisis is one of the gravest dangers facing our Commonwealth, and those who are responsible for trafficking this poison must be held accountable,” said Attorney General Coleman. “I’m grateful to the investigators and prosecutors who are stopping the flow of these dangerous drugs into Kentucky neighborhoods and taking traffickers off the streets.”

The Kentucky State Police investigated the case. Executive Director of the Attorney General’s Special Prosecutions Unit Tim Cocanougher and Assistant Attorney General Amanda Morgan prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth.
