KY AG's Special Prosecutions Unit Secures Indictment of Webster County, Man for Rape of a Minor

FRANKFORT, KY (May 22, 2025) – Attorney General Russell Coleman announced today that action from the Attorney General's Special Prosecutions Unit resulted in the indictment of Michael Denton, 55, from Webster County, on charges related to the sexual assault of a minor.

A Webster County Grand Jury indicted Denton on charges of Rape, 1st Degree (Class B Felony), Incest (Class B Felony) and Strangulation, 2nd Degree (Class D Felony). According to the indictment, on or about December 2024, in Webster County, Denton committed the alleged offenses involving a minor.

Denton was arrested and his bond has been set at $500,000.

The Kentucky State Police investigated the case. Former Graves County Commonwealth's Attorney and Assistant Attorney General Richie Kemp presented the case to the Grand Jury on behalf of the Commonwealth.

The Kentucky Supreme Court's rule on trial publicity limits information the Office can provide publicly.

The charges in an indictment are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
