Violent Rocky Hill, KY Man Arrested at Motel off KY 770 in Laurel County, KY

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Greg Poynter arrested Richard Logsdon age 47 of Rocky Hill, KY on Monday afternoon June 9, 2025 at approximately 2:14 PM.

The arrest occurred at a motel off KY 770 approximately 10 miles South of London after Deputy Poynter was dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint of a male subject allegedly fighting with other guests there. Deputy Poynter was further advised that this individual appeared to be heavily impaired and was disturbing guests.

When Deputy Poynter arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he determined that this individual was under the influence. Upon arrest this individual failed to comply with deputy’s instructions and tried to pull away from the arresting Deputy. The suspect also threatened to kill and hurt other guests including the property manager.

Richard Logsdon was charged with:

  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Alcohol intoxication in a public place
  • Terroristic threatening – third-degree
  • Resisting arrest

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
