LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Justin Lewis arrested Misty Collins, age 32, of London on Wednesday night June 18, 2025 at approximately 9:21 PM.
The arrest occurred on McWhorter Road, approximately 4 miles east of London while deputies were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at Slate Lick Church Road and KY 638 and they observed a black Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Misty Collins with a one-year-old female infant being held without a child restraint device.
It was also determined that there were numerous registration and insurance violations and the driver was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Misty Collins was charged with:
- Endangering the welfare of a minor
- Failure to use child restraint device in the vehicle
- Registration and insurance violations
In addition this individual was wanted on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first offense – second-degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
