LONDON, KY — Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's drug interdiction unit Justin Taylor, and Deputy Jared Hale along with trooper Trey Lovins and trooper Logan Mallory arrested Johnny Darrell Brown, age 52, of Victor Mitchell Rd., London on Friday night July 11, 2025 at approximately 11:52 PM.
The arrest occurred on McWhorter Road (Hwy 638) at a traffic safety checkpoint approximately 8 miles east of London after the driver of white GMC pickup, identified as Johnny Darrell Brown, was found in possession of a large quantity of:
- Suspected fentanyl
- A large quantity of suspected methamphetamine
- A glass pipe with residue
- Digital scales
- A used hypodermic syringe
Johnny Brown was charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first offense – fentanyl
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
