NICHOLASVILLE, KY (July 23, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is continuing to investigate human skeletal remains that were located in a wooded area along Sulphur Well Road in Jessamine County on Thursday, March 13, 2025.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, the State Medical Examiner's Office has identified the remains as Timothy F. Sterner Jr, 27 years old, of Lancaster, Ky. At the request of the family, the public and media are asked to respect their privacy as they navigate this difficult time.

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (March 13, 2025) – On March 13, 2025, while investigating leads in a missing person case, the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post discovered human skeletal remains in a wooded area along Sulphur Well Road in Jessamine County. The remains were recovered by the Jessamine County Coroner and will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for identification.
The investigation is being led by KSP Post 7 Detective Storm Stevens, with assistance from KSP personnel, Jessamine County Emergency Management, and the Jessamine County Coroner’s Office.
