Kentucky State Parks are a great option for fall adventures. Sportsmen and sportswomen throughout the Commonwealth have plenty to enjoy this time of year as well. Anglers generally see productive fishing trips during the fall as many fish start aggressively feeding in preparation for the colder months to come. The peak of fall hunting seasons are right around the corner, and cooler temperatures bring about some of the better hunting opportunities for a number of Kentucky’s game species. The Kentucky Mountain Crawlers in Harlan County are preparing for the annual Fall Crawl on Black Mountain Off-Road Adventure Area, Oct. 18-20. The Mountain Crawlers are a club of off-road enthusiasts who enjoy rock crawling on one of Kentucky’s top off-road destinations.
A weekend full of events is planned, including great riding and great food. Cabins and campgrounds are available in the area. The town of Evarts is currently working towards Kentucky Trail Town certification and offers a number of services to Black Mountain visitors.
