Kentucky Office of Homeland Security is Accepting FY2014 Grant Applications

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 5, 2014) – The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) is accepting applications for the FY 2014 State Homeland Security Grant Program through July 3.

The grants, funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, can be used by city and county governments, area development districts and public universities to purchase first-responder equipment, communications, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection.

KOHS will post a webcast at www.homelandsecurity.ky.gov from May 5 through July 3 to assist agencies prepare applications for grants. The 25-minute presentation, “FY 2014 Homeland Security Grant Application Workshop,” provides step-by-step information including submission requirements, eligible projects, application checklist, and the review and award process.

It is important that at least one representative from agencies interested in  applying for a grant to watch the presentation since there are several key changes from previous award cycles.  The viewing of the webcast is mandatory in order to apply.

A certification form will be posted with the webcast, which must be signed by lead applicant agency and returned to KOHS by fax or email. The deadline for applying for grants is July 3.
