Skeletal Remains Located / Clay County

(LONDON, KY.) – On Monday, March 23, 2015, at approximately 6:43 PM Kentucky State Police Post 11, London was notified by the US Division of Forestry about skeletal remains discovered while their officers were fighting a forest fire in Clay County.

KSP Detective Nick Metcalf arrived on the scene and discovered what appeared to be a partial human skull. Preliminary investigation reveals the remains appeared to have been there for years, possibly even decades.

The remains were located in close proximity to an old cemetery.

The remains were sent to Frankfort, KY to be examined by a forensic pathologist.

Detective Metcalf continues the investigation and was assisted at the scene by the Division of Forestry.
