"John Doe" one of five arrested by LSO

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Detective Jason Back along with Detective James Sizemore, Capt. Chuck Johnson, Lieut. Greg Poynter, Deputy Rick Cloyd, Deputy Brandon Broughton, and Deputy Craig Sutton arrested 5 individuals at a residence off Bryants Way, approximately 2 miles west of London on Thursday afternoon June 9, 2016 at approximately 3:18 PM.

The arrests occurred after the Sheriff's office developed information on possible drug activity at that location.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found subjects in possession of pills, and a large amount of US currency. In addition, 2 subjects there had outstanding bench warrants of arrest and another individual threatened deputies who were investigating.

Arrested was:

  • Tyree Wiggens age 19 of Southfield, Michigan charged with trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense – this subject was found in possession of a large amount of US currency and Xanax pills. Through investigation, detectives learned this subject allegedly traveled from Michigan to Kentucky to sell narcotic pills.
  • Ashley Jackson age 37 of Bryants Way, London charged with possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – this subject was found in possession of Xanax pills and US currency consistent with drug trafficking.
  • Nikki Blankenship age 31 of Robinson Creek Road, Lily charged with failure to appear in Laurel district court on charges of receiving stolen property.
  • Steven Mullins age 25 of Vanzant Road, Lily charged on a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting.
  • A fifth person arrested refused to identify himself giving investigators numerous false names and threatened officers at the scene and when being arrested struggled briefly with officers. He is listed as "John Doe" age 25 of Indianapolis, Indiana
  • All five individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
