LSO report on Friday night Robbery / Shooting

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Detective Kevin Berry along with Sgt. Robbie Grimes, Sgt. Larry Parrott, and Deputy Jamie Grimes investigated an apparent targeted robbery which occurred off Taylor Bridge Road, approximately 5 miles south of London on Friday night June 10, 2016 at approximately 6:30 PM.

The investigating officers report that apparently an underage female acquaintance entered a residence followed by two black male subjects who assaulted a resident of the home, and shot the victim with a Walther 22 caliber pistol they retrieved from the residence, stealing the victim's wallet and then fled the scene in a 2000 model white Cadillac.

The victim was identified as Trey Hedrick, approximately 20 years of age who was shot once in the hip. The victim was airlifted by PHI helicopter to UK Hospital Lexington for treatment of what appears to be a non-life-threatening injury.

Assisting at the scene was Aambulance Inc. of Laurel County.

Deputies are attempting to identify the suspects involved and are seeking the car the suspects drove.

Deputies believe the victim was set up to be robbed.
