Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Detective Kevin Berry along with Lieut. Greg Poynter arrested Jeffrey Burkhart age 46 of Echo Valley Road, Lily on Saturday afternoon August 13, 2016 at approximately 1:08 PM.
The arrest occurred off Echo Valley Road, approximately 8 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that a male subject was allegedly walking through a field toward a residence with a firearm and was shooting the weapon in the air – apparently this subject was threatening to kill his parents and they feared for their lives.
When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they determined that this subject was under the influence. In addition, deputies determined that this subject was engaged in conduct that served no legitimate purpose and caused extreme disturbance in the community.
Jeffrey Burkhart was charged with disorderly conduct – second degree; terroristic threatening – third-degree; wanton endangerment – second degree; and public intoxication – controlled substances and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
