Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that the Laurel County Sheriff's Office participated in K- Mart's National Safety Day conducted on Saturday October 1, 2016 from 10 until 4 PM.
The Sheriff's office provided an exhibit with educational material concerning the sheriff's office women's self defense program, and the sheriff's office new program Laurel 2.0---child safety program.
Numerous children, parents, and grand parents visited the exhibit.
Sheriff Root expressed his appreciation to K- Mart for including the Sheriff's office at this event.
