Clyde Lester Davidson, 79, of Crothersville, IN passed away unexpectedly on his birthday at 12:50 PM on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Clyde was born on July 22, 1940 in Clay County, Ky, he was the son of Jarmon and Susie (Davidson) Davidson.
Clyde was a 1959 Crothersville High School graduate and a United States Veteran.
On April 25, 1965 at the Crothersville First Baptist Church, Clyde married Helen (Davidson) Davidson, who survives in Crothersville, IN.
In 2002 Clyde retired from being a jailer at the Jackson County Sherriff’s Dept. He could not stay away so he went back to work part time (3 days a week), and currently worked there, giving them 37 years of dedicated service.
Clyde was a member of the former Masonic lodge in Crothersville. He was passionate about horse racing, enjoyed keeping his mind busy with…politics, crossword puzzles, scrabble, and watching game shows (especially his favorite, Jeopardy). Family was very important to Clyde and he was always bragging on his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Clyde was an extremely friendly people person and will be dearly missed by many.
Survivors include, a daughter, Tina (Robin) Downing of Seymour, IN, a son Jesse Davidson of Seymour, IN, 3 granddaughters, Kendra (Angel) Cuevas of Seymour, IN, Alisha (Jordan) Helton of Medora, IN, and Jenna Davidson of Seymour, IN, 3 great grandsons, Christian Cuevas, Adrian Cuevas, and River Helton, siblings, Carol (Jim) Herald of Crothersville, IN, Betty Brock of Crothersville, IN, Opal (Chester) Peacock of Commiskey, IN, and Virgil (Bessie) Davidson of Scottsburg, IN.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Cecil, Willie, and Clayton Davidson, and 1 sister, Lee Anna Shirley.
Pastor Randy King will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, burial to follow at Crothersville Cemetery with a military graveside services. Visitation will be Friday, July 26, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and after 10:00 AM on Saturday all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
