Mr. George Pearl Walker, age 64 of Veronica Lane in Manchester, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his home. He was born July 17, 1948 in the Blue Hole Community of Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Will and Nora Cash Walker.
He was an electrician and mechanic for LEECO, a member of the Baptist faith, and a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was a SGT in the U. S. Army and a 2 time Purple Heart recipient.
He is survived by his wife: Peggy Diana Harris Walker of Manchester, his son: George Paul “G. P.” Walker of Manchester, his daughter: Philana Yvette Walker of Lexington, 3 grandchildren: Destinee Blake Smith, Shyla Ann Parker, and Yasmin Zeta-Lee Walker. Also surviving is his Aunt: Ella Walker of Cincinnati, Ohio. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Alex Walker (Phyllis) of Lexington, Billy R. Walker (Judy) of Corbin, Liddie Cannon of Cincinnati, Ohio, Helen McClinton (Dale) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Belesia Walker of Manchester, Deliah Horsey of Manchester, and Geneva Philpot (Herbert Wayne) of Manchester.
He is preceded in death by his daughter: Veronica Lee Walker, his parents: Will and Nora Walker and 8 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral Services for Mr. George Pearl Walker will be conducted on Friday, January 11, at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Avis Thompson, Bro. Ken Bolin, and Pastor Donnie McKissic will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery in the Pennington Hill Community. Full Military Honors will be performed at the Graveside following the services.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 11, after 11 AM until the hour of the services at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
