Floyd Hibbard, a retired coal miner, loving husband, daddy, and paw passed away at UK Medical Center of Lexington, KY on March 3, 2025, at the age of 68. Floyd was born August 10, 1956, to the union of Gib and Nancy Jane Abner Hibbard. Floyd gave his heart to the Lord and was baptized at Hopewell Baptist Church.
Later in life he attended Liberty Baptist Church. Floyd worked 40 years in the coal mines holding numerous positions such as a laborer, preshifter, and mine foreman. Even in retirement he often talked about the hard work and many memories made with those whom he shared this passion and mining.
His wife, two daughters, and precious grandchildren, always brought immense joy to his life. Some of his greatest enjoyments was sharing precious moments with his family whether it was a family meal, vacations, or cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events.
Floyd is preceded in death by his parents Gib and Nancy Jane Abner Hibbard, his brothers and sisters Dan Hibbard, Tom Hibbard, Gibby Hibbard, Mildred Bowling, and Marylee Henson.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Teresa, their two daughters Ashley and Ray Hubbard and Whitney and Dylan Hoskins, 6 grandchildren Caiden and Bryson Floyd Hubbard, Rylee and Macie Lewis, Paylin and Pennley Hoskins all of Manchester, KY. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Clinton (Ann) Hibbard of Hamilton, Ohio, Cora (Buster) Brock of London, KY, Jean (Kay) Collins of Manchester, KY, Sophie (Joe) Collins of London, KY, Lois (Amos) Hubbard of Frankfort KY, Della (Casey) Carroll of Knoxville, TN, Mattie (Steven) Parson of London, KY. Floyd is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Kim and Delbert Allen of Manchester, KY, brother-in-law Shannon Martin of Manchester, KY, as well as a host of family and friends.
Floyd will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts and memories.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 6th at Britton Funeral Home, with Chris Roberts and Robert Hibbard officiating. Burial will follow at the Martin Cemetery on Island Creek.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 6th at Britton Funeral Home.
