Sylvia Owens Campbell was born February 16, 1928. She departed this life February 14, 2013, two days before her 85th birthday.
She died in Brighton, Michigan in the home of her loving daughter (Linda Acuff) surrounded by her family.
Sylvia was born in Manchester, Kentucky to Myrtle and Ed Owens. She lived in Manchester with her husband, Earl Campbell (who predeceased her on June 29, 2011), until she moved to Brighton, Michigan in October, 2010. She was a devoted Christian and faithful member of the First Liberty Baptist Church until her death.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers (Ruben Owens, Roy Owens, and Clarence Owens), and two sisters (Ollie Rice and Louise Fletcher). She is survived by her daughter Linda Acuff (married to John Acuff) of Brighton, Michigan, one brother, Lewis Owens, of Orlando, Florida and four granddaughters: Anjanette (Jay) Neff, Meribeth (Stephen) Livingston, Amberly (Patrick) Brennan and Jeanine (Michael) Wilcox. Also her eleven great-grand children are surviving: Owen and Olivia Terry; Lana and Amy Neff; Isabella and Ava Livingston; Jack, Kaitlyn and Vivian Brennan; and Vincent and Jacob Wilcox.
Sylvia was loved greatly and will be missed by her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, brother, many nephews and nieces, and many friends. We believe that it is our loss but heaven's gain.
Visitation will be held at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, Kentucky on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 6:00- 9:00 pm.
Funeral service will be held at First Liberty Baptist Church in Fall Rock, Kentucky on February 19, 2013 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Campbell Cemetery.
