Mr. Vernon Howell, age 72 of Manchester, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky.
He was born September 3, 1940 in Woollum, Kentucky to the union of Levi and Alzy Bundy Howell. He was retired from the Union Chain Company in Sandusky, Ohio and a member of the Antioch Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: Lois Reed and her husband Johnny Downey, Bonnie Sizemore and her husband David, Betty Howell and Alex Howell and his wife Chevy. Also surviving are the following grandchildren: Lucas Reed, Jennifer Reed, Andrew Reed, Marcus Howell, Malinda Williams, Charlie Sizemore, Chasity Sizemore, Alex Jr. Howell, Taylor Howell, several great grandchildren, and one brother: Earl Howell of Dublin, Indiana and many half brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Levi and Alzy Howell, his sons: Vernon Howell, Jr., Victor Vernon Howell, and Gary Hensley, his brothers and sisters: A. T. Howell, Burton Howell, John Howell, B. R. Howell, Magdalene Miller, and P. J. Howell.
Funeral Services for Mr. Vernon Howell will be conducted on Wednesday, August 7, at 3 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. William Mann Cobb will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Bundy Cemetery in the Woollum Community.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 6, after 6 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church.
