Reverend Walter Wagers, age 72 of Brodhead, Kentucky, passed away Friday November 8, 2013 in Brodhead.
Reverend Wagers was born in Double Creek, Clay County, Kentucky on June 15, 1941, a son of the late Jim and Delora Henson Wagers. He was a Pentecostal minister and evangelist, enjoyed horseback riding, woodworking, singing, playing the guitar and talking with people.
Reverend Wagers is survived by four children: Walter (Mary) Wagers, Jr. of Gray Hawk, Kentucky, Bobby (Rita) Wagers of Annville, Kentucky, David (Satica) Wagers of Brodhead, Kentucky and Tabitha (Raymond) Carpenter of Brodhead, Kentucky; The childrens' mother: BonHelen ; One brother: Frank (Noreen) Wagers of Trafalger, Indiana; Eleven grandchildren, Fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides his parents, Reverend Wagers was preceded in death by a daughter: Oda Carol Wagers; Six brothers: John, Matt, Floyd, Tommy, Aderin and Charley Wagers; and a sister: Eva West.
Funeral services for Reverend Walter Wagers will be conducted on Friday November 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Rev. Yoel Napier, Bro. Randal Adams and Bobby Wagers officiating, with words spoken by Willie Ray Smith. Burial will follow in the Goose Rock Cemetery in Manchester, Kentucky.
Visitation for Reverend Walter Wagers will be held on Thursday November 14, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.
