Bernice Hollin Couch, 72, of Big Creek was born April 20th, 1941. She departed this life, with all her children at her bedside, on January 25th, 2014, at the home of her son. Bernice had battled heart disease for many years and had battled cancer over the last year.
Bernice is survived by the following children: Vanda Deaton and husband Tommy, Brenda Smith and husband Walker, Denise Baker and husband Tony, Terry Couch and wife Beulah, Herbert Anthony Couch, and Scott Couch. Bernice had 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren at the time of her death.
Bernice is also survived by the following sisters and brothers: Bonnie Lewis, Daisy Estep, Ora Pearl Jones, Cassie Jeffreys, John Hollin and wife Marlene, James Douglas Hollin and wife Kimberly, and Walter Hollin and wife Sheila. Also surviving is one special friend, Danny Hall.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Couch, one infant son, Phillip Wayne Couch, her parents Sam Hollin and Lillie Begley, and two brothers, Dorris Holland and Allen Jr. Hollin.
The Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Tuesday at the Hals Fork Pentecostal Church with Bobby Holland, Tony Couch, Jerry Holland, and Jerry McKinley Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Couch family Cemetery at Elk Creek. Visitation will be after 2 PM Sunday at the Church until the Funeral Hour.
