Mr. Homer Wolfe, age 94 of Manchester, departed this life on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in Hazard, Kentucky.
He was born on Sunday, August 8, 1920 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Shelby and Molly Herd Wolfe. He was a carpenter, a member of the Pleasant Run Baptist Church where was former Chairman of the Deacons, and a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter: Virginia Farmer and her husband Richard of Greenbriar, his step-daughter: Lela Hughes and her husband Ken of Greenbriar, his grandchildren: Rhonda Monroe and her husband Johnny, Richie Farmer, and John Russell Farmer and his wife Jenny, 2 step grandchildren: Kendra Samples and her husband Bryan and Christopher Hughes and his wife Amanda. Also surviving are 7 great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Shelby and Molly Wolfe, his wives: Veatrice Wolfe and Malvery Wolfe, his sons: Billy Wolfe, Terry Wolfe, and Russell Morris Wolfe, and his brothers and sisters: Clint Wolfe, Arthur Wolfe, John Wolfe, Carlo Wolfe, Jack Wolfe, Ed Wolfe, Ernest Wolfe, George Wolfe, and Maude Ramsey and Pearl Hayes.
Funeral Services for Mr. Homer Wolfe will be conducted on Friday, September 5, at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jerry Hurst will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Reid Cemetery in the Greenbriar Community.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
