J. C. Gray, 92, of Manchester, KY, passed away Friday, September 18th, at the Landmark of Laurel Creek. J. C. was born in Goose Rock, KY on September 16, 1928, a son of the late Frank and Minnie Gray. He was a believer in the Baptist faith.
Mason James Sons was born April 22, 1993 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the union of Angela Turner and James Sons. He was a life-long resident of Leslie County except for having lived recently in Hazard, KY. He was a graduate of Leslie County High School and was a former forestry worker. He was currently employed by Little Caesars of Hazard. Mason was full of life and enjoyed hiking, gardening and painting. He also enjoyed listening to daily devotions. He loved his family and loved animals. Mason departed from this walk of life on Sunday, September 13, 2020. He was 27 years old.
Louise Jarvis, 76, of Manchester, KY, passed away Saturday, September 12th, at the Advent Health Manchester Hospital. Louise was born in Manchester, KY on February 3, 1944, a daughter of the late Margaret (Harris) and Tommy Jarvis.
Eva Frederick, 73, of Manchester, KY, passed away Friday, September 11th, at her home. Eva was born in Manchester, KY on August 8, 1947, a daughter of the late Laura (Wagers) and Thomas Arnett.
Devadie Smith, 71, of Manchester, KY, passed away Friday, September 11th, at the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Hospice Care Center.
Curtis Don Wilhoit passed away at his home on September 9, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Dad, as he was known by so many, was born in Laurel County on January 15, 1934 to John and Lennie Wilhoit. Dad graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1952. After high school, he joined the Navy where he got to spend time in Hawaii and Japan. While in Japan, he bought a 35mm camera and began documenting our lives in pictures that are such a treasure.
