LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: A phone scam has resurfaced in Laurel County where the caller is misrepresenting the Sheriff's office by identifying himself as a deputy.

MARION, KY (Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police is reporting that Rachel L. Cook of Marion has been located safely.
STANTON, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 8 Morehead has been requested by the Irvine Police Department (IPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting in Powell County. KSP was contacted on Jan. 11, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. EST regarding the incident, which originated in Estill County and ended in Powell County.

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root reports that: A teenager was reported missing in Laurel County on January 12, 2025. The missing teen, Laniyha Miles, age 17 was reportedly last seen off Hammock Road, 3 miles south of London, KY at 1:30 P.M. Sunday afternoon January 12th, 2025.
