2016 Sheriffs Office Annual Awards Banquet

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root (right) recognized the following Sheriff's office personnel that received awards at the Laurel County Sheriff's office annual awards banquet held in London on Thursday night December 8, 2016.

  • Senior Deputy Brandon Broughton – Deputy of the Year award –  also received a Bravery award
  • Capt. Chuck Johnson - Supervisor of the Year award
  • Detective Kevin Berry - Detective of the Year award
  • Bailiff Jamie Etherton - Bailiff of the Year award
  • Carolyn Harris - Office Staff Employee of the year
  • Also Receiving awards were:

  • Deputy Rick Cloyd - Bravery award
  • Sgt. John Inman - Meritorious service award
  • Detective James Sizemore - Meritorious Service award
  • Detective Jason Back - Meritorious Service award
  • Bailiff Robert Reed - Life Saving award
  • Special Deputy Elizabeth Sparks - Meritorious Service award
  • Two civilians were recognized by the Laurel County Sheriff's Office with the Civilian award– Rhonda Turner and Chuck Ledford.

    Chief Wayne Bird of the Williamsburg City Police Department received the Sheriff's Commendation award.
