Drug arrest on East Hal Rogers Parkway

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Gary Mehler along with Deputy Shannon Jones, Sgt. John Inman, and Deputy Daniel Grigsby and his K-9 "Edge" with assistance from Kentucky State Police and London City Police arrested Stephon Jalin Little age 22 of Walker Lane, Manchester early Tuesday morning February 13, 2018 at approximately 2:25 AM.

The arrest occurred on East Hal Rogers Parkway approximately 2/10 mile east of London after Deputy Mehler conducted a traffic stop on a black colored Chevrolet S-10 pickup and detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle during the traffic stop.

The Laurel County Sheriff's office K-9 was brought to the scene and alerted on the vehicle and as a result further investigation was conducted and a passenger in the vehicle was found in possession of marijuana, some of it individually packaged, a set of digital scales, oxycodone pills, Alprazolam bars, a large amount of US currency, a semi automatic 9 mm pistol concealed, and an EBT/debit card belonging to someone else.

Stephon Jalin Little was charged with trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces first offense; carrying a concealed weapon; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and knowingly fraudulently using ID card or electronic code for benefits.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
