BARBOURVILLE, KY - The Knox County, Ky. Sheriff's Department reports that: On Saturday, June 7, 2025, SGT Jesse Smith, along with other Knox County Deputies, conducted a search at a residence on KY 459 near Barbourville.
The search was the result of an investigation being conducted by SGT Smith into reports of illegal drug trafficking by 24-year-old Nathaniel Edison of Barbourville, KY that led to the seizure of a large amount of suspected Cocaine and a loaded firearm.
During the search of the residence, law enforcement located and seized:
- THC Vapes
- THC Wax
- Marijuana
- Several pills
- Scales
- Baggies
- Other drug paraphernalia
- Several firearms
Nathaniel Edison was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance - 1st Degree - Cocaine
- Trafficking in Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Trafficking in Legend Drugs
During the arrest, Edison attempted to bribe the deputies by offering them cash not to arrest him. Nathaniel Edison was then charged with:
- Bribery of a Public Servant
This individual was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
