Two Charged with Murder Following Death of a Two Year Old in Madison County

BEREA, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted on Monday, February 12, 2018 after a two year old child was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The initial investigation alleges that two year Tristan Clements was injured while in the care of his mother and her boyfriend at a residence on Dreyfus Road in Madison County. The child was admitted into the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he remained until he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, February 14th.

As a result of the ongoing investigation William H. Butler, 31 years old of Berea, and Seara M. Clements, 26 years old of Berea, were arrested and charged with Murder, Criminal Abuse 1st Degree of a Child Under 12, and Failure to Report Neglect or Abuse 1st Offense. They have both been lodged at the Madison County Detention Center.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post 7 Detective Cameron Allen.
