DUI Third Offense plus warrants of arrest - Laurel County

Laurel County, KY -  Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Landry Collett arrested James Edward Evans age 71 of London on Tuesday afternoon September 11, 2018 at approximately 1:29 PM.

The arrest occurred on KY 192 in London after Deputy Collett observed a subject driving a riding lawnmower across the I-75 entrance ramp at KY 192.

Deputy Collett conducted a stop where he detected the strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver who was determined to be under the influence.The driver stated that he had been drinking and had came from the liquor store.

James Evans was charged with DUI third offense; operating on DUI suspended license; careless driving.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense and assault – 4th degree – domestic violence.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of wanton endangerment – second-degree and resisting arrest and cruelty to animals – second-degree.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
