LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Jake Miller and his K-9 “ Gotcha” along with Deputy Travis Napier and Deputy Josh Morgan arrested Paul E. Thurmond age 42 of Parker Rd., London on Sunday evening December 30, 2018 at approximately 5:24 PM.
The arrest occurred off Walton Drive, in London following a traffic stop for a traffic violation on a green colored GMC pickup. During the stop and investigation Deputy Miller’s K-9 “ Gotcha” alerted on the vehicle and deputies located the driver in possession of a black zip up bag containing a glass pipe and a bag with a white crystal substance in it believed to be methamphetamine.
In addition, the driver was wanted on outstanding warrants.
This individual was charged with failure to signal; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court warrant of arrest charging harrassing communications.
Also this subject was charged on a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court – motion to revoke – no bond allowed on six counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; fleeing or evading police – second-degree – motor vehicle; two counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and numerous other violations.
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
