CORBIN, KY - The Knox County, Ky. Sheriff's Department is reporting that: On Monday, June 24, 2019 Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith along with Deputies James Fox and Sam Mullins responded to a possible shooting at a residence on Highway 3436 in Corbin.
Prior to arriving at the residence, the deputies observed Albert Lee France age 37 of Barbourville, KY walking on Highway 3436 with a visible wound to his left shoulder.
After arriving at the residence, the deputies observed another male with a visible wound to the forehead.
The deputies learned in their investigation that Albert France had assaulted the male by striking him in the forehead with an object causing injury.
They also learned that Albert France attempted to assault a female that lived at the residence with the object and the female shot him once in the left shoulder with a 22 caliber handgun.
Albert France was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin and transported by ambulance to UK Medical Center in Lexington.
The male victim was treated by EMS at the scene.
The investigation is continuing by Knox County Deputy James Fox with charges pending.
