Drug arrest during Traffic Stop in Flat Lick / Knox County

Flat Lick, Ky. - The Knox County, Ky Sheriff's Department is reporting that: On Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at approximately 1:00 A.M. Knox County Deputy Mikey Ashurst conducted a traffic stop on Highway 3085 in Flat Lick.

While checking a female passenger, Deputy Ashurst observed a syringe and a set of digital scales inside the vehicle.

Deputy Ashurst also located a plastic bag containing suspected Methamphetamine, another syringe, another set of scales and over $200 in cash.

During the arrest the female gave Deputy Ashurst a false name and date of birth.

Deputy Ashurst was able to identify her as: Brittanie Akers age 29 of Pineville, KY.

Brittanie Akers was charged with:

  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree
  • Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Giving Officer False Identifying Information

Brittanie Akers was also wanted on a Knox County Indictment Warrant for:

  • Trafficking in Controlled Substance-1st Degree
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Persistent Felony Offender I

She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
