Altercation results in alleged stabbing on Gregory Branch Road

Clay County, Ky. (Sept. 18, 2019) - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on September 18, 2019 at approximately 4:00 AM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Wes Brumley was dispatched to a complaint on Gregory Branch Road where a male subject had allegedly been stabbed.

Upon arrival, Deputy Brumley made contact with a male individual laying in the middle of the road way with a deep laceration to his upper torso.

Through investigation it was determined the individual and Rickie Gregory, 51 of Gregory Branch Road had got into an altercation which resulted in the stabbing of the male subject.

Also, through confirmation with Clay County Dispatch a female individual on scene was arrested for having numerous warrants for her arrest. 

Rickie Gregory, 51 was charged with:

• Assault, 1st Degree

Liza Smallwood, 33 of Laurel County was charged with:

• Serving Bench Warrant for Court
• Serving Bench Warrant for Court
• Serving Bench Warrant for Court
