Laurel County, Ky. (Sept. 26, 2019) - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Gary Mehler along with Sgt. John Inman, Deputy Josh Morgan, and Deputy Tommy Houston arrested two individuals early Thursday morning September 26, 2019 at approximately 1:26 AM.
The arrests occurred in northern Laurel County while deputies were conducting an investigation into a reported stolen Honda four wheeler. Information was developed after one of the suspects allegedly involved advertised the four wheeler on Facebook for sale.
Deputies learned that one of the suspects apparently lived off Gamecock Road 5 miles north of London. Deputies proceeded to that location and located a four wheeler covered by tarp at the residence there. The vehicle identification number had been removed from the vehicle.
The resident there identified as Dominique Blake Perkins stated he had traded a Chevrolet Tahoe for the four wheeler. Perkins was taken into custody and deputies traveled to another location off KY 1376 approximately 8 miles north of London where they made contact with another individual who allegedly had been in possession of the stolen four wheeler and had traded it for the Chevrolet Tahoe.
That individual was identified as John Vincent Miller and he too was taken into custody.
The two arrested individuals are identified as:
Dominique Blake Perkins age 18 of Gamecock Rd., East Bernstadt charged with:
- Receiving stolen property under $10,000; destruction of a VIN number.
John Vincent Miller age 57 of Highway 1376, East Bernstadt charged with:
- Receiving stolen property under $10,000
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
