Clay Deputy investigates Stalking complaint

Clay County, Ky. (November 21, 2019) - Sheriff Patrick Robinson is reporting that on November 20, 2019 at approximately 8:30 PM Clay County Sheriff Deputy Wes Brumley arrested James Gill, 38 of North Highway 11.

The arrest occurred when Deputy Brumley was dispatched to a stalking complaint on Highway 638.

Upon arrival, Deputy Brumley came into contact with the above mentioned subject it outside of a residence.

Through investigation it was determined that the subject was trespassing.

Once Deputy Brumley attempted to place the subject under arrest, the subject became combative toward Deputy Brumley.

After a brief struggle the subject was placed under arrest without further incident. During the struggle Deputy Brumley’s uniform was ripped. 

James Gill was charged with:

• Criminal Trespassing- 3rd Degree
• Criminal Mischief- 3rd Degree
• Resisting Arrest
• Menacing
