UPDATE: Kentucky State Police Continue Investigating Multi-Vehicle Collision in Calloway County

*UPDATE* MURRAY, KY — Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 1 troopers continue to investigate a multi-vehicle collision that resulted in the closure of U.S. 641 northbound for several hours Saturday evening April 12, 2025. The collision scene has been cleared and the roadway has been reopened.

The preliminary investigation indicates Zachary Jackson, 22 years old of Madison, WV was operating a 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle on Poor Farm Road. Jackson entered the intersection of Poor Farm Road and U.S. 641 when he was struck by a 2016 Ford Explorer, operated by Jonathan Mathis, 44 years old of Hardin, KY, who was traveling southbound on U.S. 641. Upon colliding with the motorcycle, Mathis' vehicle then continued across the median into the northbound lanes where it collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Sue Robinson, 74 years old of Hampton, KY

Mr. Jackson was flown to an out-of-state hospital for serious injuries. Mr. Mathis was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Ms. Robinson did not report any injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Casey Hamby. KSP was assisted on scene by the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, Calloway County Fire-Rescue, Murray-Calloway EMS, and AirEvac.

MURRAY, Ky. (April 12, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP), Post 1 troopers are on scene of a multi-vehicle collision on US-641 North at the intersection of Pella Way in Calloway County. US-641 northbound is currently shut down between North 4th Street and KY-80. The road is estimated to remain closed for approximately 4 hours while the investigation is conducted and the scene is cleared.
