Laurel County, Ky. (November 22, 2019) - Sheriff John Root, detectives and deputies, along with the Sheriff's Office Special Response Team (SRT), and K-9 teams conducted a county wide drug roundup "Operation Another November to Remember" early Friday morning November 22, 2019 seeking 19 individuals on drug trafficking and possession charges throughout Laurel County.
Three teams of sheriff’s deputies, assisted by London City Police, and the London Office of the U.S. Marshal, armed with arrest warrants and a search warrant based on undercover investigations conducted by Laurel Sheriff’s Detective James Sizemore and Detective Bryon Lawson arrested 12 of 19 suspects charging various Illegal Drug Trafficking and Possession offenses, and lodged them in the Laurel County Correctional Facility.
In addition, 9 other wanted persons were arrested on other outstanding charges. A total of 21 persons were arrested. These arrests were the result of a 3 month undercover investigation conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.
Those suspects arrested are identified as:
Polly Brock age 35 of East Highway 3094, East Bernstadt charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
Tammy Hubbard age 51 of Little Dr., London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Hydrocodone
Bert Collett age 48 of Little Dr., London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Hydrocodone
William Martin age 60 of W. 2nd St., London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Oxycodone
Jason Neace age 34 of Hardin Dr., London charged with:
- trafficking in Marijuana
Dale Burkhart age 54 of Hensley Rd., East Bernstadt charged on:
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence – third offense.
Rodney Howard age 39 of Byble Rd., London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Trafficking in Marijuana first offense
- ALaurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on numerous violations
Charles Allen age 41 of Hensley Rd., East Bernstadt charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on numerous violations
Nila Callahan age 37 of Betty Lane, London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, 1st Offense Meth
- Trafficking in Marijuana 1st Offense
Reva Moore age 51 of Swiss Colony Ln., London charged on:
- A Laurel Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense
- A Knox Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging probation violation regarding charges of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense
- A Knox Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging probation violation regarding charges of trafficking in a controlled substance – second-degree first offense; two counts of probation violation.
Stacy Jackson age 41 of Campground Court, Corbin charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Hydrocodone
Dustin Westerfield age 32 of Finley's Trailer Park, London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – third-degree – first offense – Suboxone
Also arrested and found with outstanding warrants of arrest or other arrests as law enforcement conducted their roundup of drug suspects were the following individuals either found with drugs or wanted on other charges:
Tabitha Hawk age 39 of Morentown Rd., London charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine.
Carroll Smith age 56 of Highway 3434, East Bernstadt charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a controlled substance – suspected Methamphetamine and suspected Klonopin and Suboxone
James Doan age 57 of Highway 3094, East Bernstadt charged with:
- Cultivating in marijuana first offense
Beatrice Eversole age 46 of Highway 1376 E., East Bernstadt charged with;
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
Damien L. McClanahan age 20 of Cloud Subdivision, London charged with:
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Criminal mischief – third-degree
- Resisting arrest
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
Israel Miller age 46 of Manchester charged on:
- A Clay District Court bench warrant of arrest charging: Failure to Appear in Court on charges of - Possession of drug paraphernalia; Possession of a controlled substance – second-degree
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging: Failure to Appear in Court
Darren Gibson age 36 of Manchester charged on:
- A bench warrant of arrest charging: Failure to Appear in Court
Cassi Colston age 24 of Rupert Ave., London charged on:
- A Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging Failure to Appear in Court on charges of: Theft by unlawful taking – auto; burglary – third-degree; Endangering the welfare of a minor
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging Failure to Appear in Court on charges of: Criminal trespassing – third-degree; Contempt of court
Amy Fultz age 31 of Manchester charged on:
- A Clay District Court bench warrant of arrest charging: Failure to Appear in Court regarding a child support case
- A Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging: Failure to Appear in Court for preliminary hearing regarding a charge of Flagrant Nonsupport
- A Laurel Circuit Court indictment warrant of arrest charging: Flagrant Nonsupport
Assisting in the arrests today were 3 teams of officers headed by Sheriff John Root comprised of:
- Laurel Sheriff's detectives, deputies ,bailiffs, CSO's, Laurel Sheriff’s Office SRT and K-9 Teams
- U.S. Marshal Service London Office
- London City Police
Arrests will be continuing.
When campaigning for Sheriff 10 years ago, John Root promised the voters that he would wage war on the drug dealers of Laurel County. He has kept that promise. Today's roundup of drug dealers continues to show Sheriff John Root's level of commitment to continue this pledge. His office has the full cooperation of Laurel County Attorney Jodi Albright and Laurel Commonwealth Attorney Jackie Steele as the Laurel County Sheriff's Office and Laurel county's prosecutors work side-by-side to eradicate the drugs which destroy the future of this County.
A total of 21 persons were arrested today. More arrests will occur as suspects are located.
Sheriff John Root stated that he wanted today's arrests of area drug traffickers to reemphasize his promise that his office will be continuing to fight the "War on Drugs" as he promised citizens that he would.
