LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston arrested Lee David Bennett, Jr. age 56 of Corbin early Saturday morning February 15, 2020 at approximately 1:12 AM.
The arrest occurred on US 25 approximately 10 miles South of London after Deputy Houston conducted a traffic stop on a beige colored Chrysler Sebring that he observed weaving on the roadway and having no registration plate on the vehicle.
During the stop Deputy Houston noted that he detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.
Lee David Bennett, Jr. was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
- No registration plates
- Reckless driving
- Failure to wear seatbelts
- Failure of nonowner operator to maintain required insurance – first offense; and other violations
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
