Lawsuit against OBI alleges multiple accounts of Sexual Abuse

Gavel Judge Scales 350

MANCHESTER, KY (February 23, 2020) - In a previous article, CCN reported that a former student at Oneida Baptist Institute had filed a lawsuit in Clay County alleging that he was sexually abused by an older Oneida student in September of 2019.

ClayCoNews has obtained a copy of the above mentioned lawsuit (10 pages) which alleges a 17 year old student sexually abused other students on different occasions.

Excerpts from the lawsuit are included in this report.

According to the lawsuit:

In late November of 2019, a notebook/journal belonging to the alleged perpetrator was found by an unknown individual.

Upon information and belief, it contained multiple accounts of the alleged perpetrator’s sexual abuse of other students.

The house parents were made aware of this journal, and as a result began an investigation. They interviewed, presumably, the students named therein.

To the best of information and belief, the house parents interviewed approximately 8 students, one of which was the Plaintiff.

When interviewed, the Plaintiff recounted the sexual assault described supra (due to the explicit sexual content used, CCN has chosen not to publish the details of the alleged assault).
