MANCHESTER, KY (March 2, 2020) - Clay County Cooperative Extension Service upcoming programs for March, 2020.
♦Homemaker Card Club – We are starting a new homemaker club in Clay County. Do you want to learn how to make greeting cards or already make them and want to share your skill? We will have an organization meeting on March 10, 2020 at 1:30 pm at the Extension Office. Come learn about Homemakers in Clay County and make a card to take home. We would love to see you attend! ♦Clay County 4-H Livestock Club will be having their first club meeting on Tuesday, March 10th from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Clay County Extension Office. This club is FREE and open to all youth ages 5-18. Are you interested in learning more about beef, sheep, swine or goats? You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge about various aspects of livestock, earn 6 educational hours from a Certified Volunteer Leader and potentially participate in the 4-H Livestock Judging Contest! ♦Pruning and Grafting Demonstration will be March 12th at the Laurel County Extension Office. Dr. John Strang will be doing the program with Grafting at 10:00 am and Pruning at 1:00 pm. Please call 598-2789 to register.
♦4-H Chefs in Training will be March 12th from 4:30-5:30 pm at the Clay County Extension Office. We will be making Fabulous Fruit Muffins! Come and learn basic cooking skills and kitchen safety! FREE & open to all youth ages 8-18. Please call 598-2789 to register by March 10th.
♦ Dynamic Diabetes Demonstration is March 17th from 12:00 -1:00 pm at the Extension Office. Tammy Pennington will share information with you and Lora will do a food demonstration at 1:00 pm. If you are interested, we may do a Gentle Yoga demonstration. Please call 598-2789 to register. Program is free and open to the public.
♦Pruning Demonstration will be March 17th at 1:00 pm. You can meet at the Extension Office or at the pruning site in East Manchester. Free and open to the public. Please call 598-2789 to register.
♦ Cook Together Eat Together is a program for families that want to cook together. This program will be held March 17th, 24th, 31st, April 2nd, & 9th at 5:00 pm at the Clay County Extension Office. All children must have an adult with them. Come enjoy this time as a family cooking together for a nutritious meal. FREE! You must call 598-2789 to register. Space is limited.
♦4-H Teen Club will be March 18th at 5:00 pm at the Clay County Extension Office. FREE and open to all youth in middle school and high school.
♦Plate It Up will be March 19th at 6:00 pm at the Extension Office. Come enjoy tasting with others that love to cook using Kentucky produce. Enjoy these foods that can be grown in your home garden. Free and open to the public but you must call 598-2789 to register.
♦Homemaker Leader Training “Butterflies” taught by Matti Cornelius, is March 25th at 10:00 am at the Extension Office. Come learn about butterflies, the flowers they like and attracting them to your garden. Free and open to the public but you must call 598-2789 to register.
♦Tobacco Gap and Produce Best Practice Training will be March 31st at 6:00 pm at the Laurel County Extension Office. Please call 598-2789 to register.
