Officials: Ending illegal dumping is now Top Priority in Clay County

MANCHESTER, KY - The Clay County Solid Waste Department is putting the individuals that are trashing the Roadsides, Woodlands, Creeks & Rivers in Clay County, KY on NOTICE that they will to be held accountable for their actions.

Assistant Solid Waste Coordinator James Baker said "The Solid Waste Department is working with full cooperation from Clay County Judge Executive Johnny Johnson and Clay County Attorney Joe White.

We are on a mission to clean up Clay County & keep it clean, our department is now equipped with new high tech Surveillance Equipment which is being deployed in areas that are most prone to illegal dumping activity."

He did not comment when asked if Drones were included in the new Surveillance package. 

According to Officer Baker, other law enforcement agencies are also involved in Clay County's "Crackdown on Trash".

He said "Littering is not going to be tolerated in Clay County anymore, residential and rental property owners will be prosecuted for trash and illegal burning as well.  A citation will be issued to any person that's caught littering, the fine is $500.00 dollars or Community Service."
