MANCHESTER, KY - On Saturday March 28, 2020 Jonas and Lindsey Ertel of Clay County took their first fishing excursion since getting married last year in December.

Jonas said "I travel All over the United States with my job but we are actually quarantined off the job sites currently. I was supposed to be in Salt Lake City by the end of the week but everything is on a standstill right now.

We went really early out of quarantine boredom just to fish a little and let off some steam. Since we live here in Manchester right now, I felt that Bert Combs lake was close enough for no big travel and also figured there wouldn't be many people there and we would be safe as far as following suggested quarantine guidelines.

I had never fished the lake before but my wife had when she was a kid.  We never expected the catches & Lindsey's crazy face right when the bass bit down on her hand was something to see, it freaked her out but she didn't drop it though! It was a beautiful day and we had a great time! I sent the pics and story because I was so proud of her and felt it would be nice for people to hear a little something different about good fun other than whats going on in the world today.

My Largemouth was caught on a Black/Blue casting jig and Lindsey caught her's on a Shakey Head worm.

Lindsey & I are firm believers in "catch and release" so both fish are still happily enjoying their home in the lake."

Jonas Ertel is a former College BASS National Champion.  He won the championship with his partner in Arkansas while attending EKU in 2011.
