Drug Investigations and Arrests in Southeast Kentucky

LONDON KY (January 9, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root along with Detective Bryon Lawson and Detective James Sizemore arrested four individuals at two locations in southern Laurel County while conducting drug investigations on Friday morning January 8, 2021 at approximately 11:57 AM.

The arrests occurred off KY 233 and Hanes Baker Road after Sheriff's investigators found:

  • Needles
  • Digital scales
  • Baggies
  • Meth residue
  • A glass pipe
  • Suspected Methamphetamine

The four arrested individuals were identified as:

 Arrested off KY 233:

Mary Newby age 19 of Highway 233, London charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine;
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

Jeffery Henderson age 32 of Howser St., Corbin charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laruel Circuit Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Flagrant nonsupport

Arrested off Hanes Baker Road:

Loren Ellison age 37 of Hanes Baker Rd., Corbin charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

Andrew David Jackson age 34 of Haynes Biker Rd., London charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Drug paraphernalia

All four individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
