LONDON, KY (January 12, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Brent France along with K-9/Shift Sgt. Gary Mehler, Deputy Hunter Disney, and Deputy Marcus Stigall arrested two subjects while Deputies were attempting to locate a male subject on an outstanding warrant.
The arrests occurred off KY 770 at a motel approximately 10 miles South of London.
Upon entry to the room, deputies located suspected Methamphetamine, a pipe and a male subject wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The two arrested individuals were identified as:
James Tankersley age 43 of Timberland Point, Lily, KY charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
In addition, this subject was charged on a Whitley District Court bench warrant of arrest charging:
- Failure to appear in court
Sarah Richmond age 42 of Trimble Chapel Sq., Prestonsburg, KY charged with:
- Possession of a Controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – Methamphetamine
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
