Police Discover Suspected Methamphetamine after Driver Exhibits Suspicious Behavior during Traffice Stop in Southeast Kentucky

LONDON, KY (January 14, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Landry Collett along with Deputy Justin Taylor and shift Sgt. John Inman arrested Robert Arlan Havens, Jr. early Thursday morning January 14, 2021 at approximately 2:50 AM.

The arrest occurred in a business parking lot off Highway 312 approximately 10 miles South of London after Deputy Collett conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Tahoe.

During the stop the driver exhibited suspicious behavior.

Deputies Taylor and Inman assisted Deputy Collett and discovered the driver in possession of:

  • Suspected Methamphetamine
  • Digital scales
  • Pills

Robert Arlan Havens, Jr. was charged with:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Controlled substance – third-degree
  • Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
  • Failure to signal

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
