Man Arrested in Kentucky after Police Overhear Him Threatening to Kill a Female

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Travis Napier and Deputy Marcus Stigall arrested Austin J. White age 25 of Corbin on Wednesday afternoon January 20, 2021 at approximately 3:41 PM.

The arrest occurred at apartments off American Greeting Card Road approximately 8 miles South of London while deputies were investigating an unrelated incident there and overheard a male creating a disturbance and threatening to harm a female subject there.

As deputies ran toward the disturbance, they overheard the male subject again threatened to kill a female subject there.

Deputies located the male suspect in a blue Suzuki Grand Vitara and noted that in addition to the male subject a female subject and children were in the vehicle where the disturbance was originating.

The male suspect struggled briefly with deputies upon arrest but was taken into custody.

Austin J. White was charged with:

  • Terroristic threatening – third-degree
  • Disorderly conduct – second-degree
  • Resisting arrest
  • Operating on suspended or revoked operator's license.

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
