ARREST: Deputies in Laurel County, Kentucky Dispatched to Complaint of a Male Subject Passed Out Behind the Wheel Blocking Traffic

LONDON, KY (January 25, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Allen Turner along with K-9 Deputy Jake Miller arrested Kevin Berry age 46 of London on Sunday afternoon January 24, 2021 at approximately 1:51 PM.

The arrest occurred on Pleasure View Road, approximately 6 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject passed out behind the wheel blocking traffic there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies located the vehicle, a Ford Ranger pickup stopped partially on the roadway with a male subject leaned over the steering wheel with a foot on the brake and the engine running.

When the driver rolled his window down deputies detected the odor of alcoholic beverages.

Deputies conducted an investigation on the driver determining that he was under the influence.

Kevin Berryl was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense;
  • Failure to wear seatbelts

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
